Child Safety Standards

1. Our commitment

TopTenArr has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

We prohibit any use of TopTenArr, this website, or our feed and licence service at api.toptenarr.com to create, store, organize, request, acquire, transmit, advertise, solicit, or facilitate access to CSAM or any other content that sexually exploits or endangers a child.

Any credible report results in immediate action — permanent revocation of licence keys and access, preservation of relevant records, and reporting to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement as required by law.

2. Who can use TopTenArr

TopTenArr is for adults 18 and over — or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if that is higher. It is not directed to children, not designed for children, and not marketed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 is using the Service, we will terminate their access and delete any associated records.

3. How TopTenArr is built — and why that matters here

We would rather be precise than reassuring, because the honest description of this product is the strongest safeguard we can offer.

TopTenArr is self-hosted software. It runs on hardware you own. It reads publicly published streaming Top 10 charts and builds matching collections on your own Plex server, from titles that already exist in your own library.

As a result it has none of the surfaces through which CSAE typically occurs online:

The one channel through which a person can send us anything is the optional in-app feedback form. What you submit there reaches us alone — it is never published and never shown to another user. We review it, and section 5 applies to it.

We say this plainly because claiming moderation we do not perform would be worse than useless. What we do perform is in section 5.

4. What we prohibit

Note that the optional Radarr/Sonarr integration can cause tools you control to request and download content. Nothing in TopTenArr's design permits it to request unlawful material — it requests titles from public, mainstream streaming charts — but you remain accountable for what your own systems do.

5. How to report

If you believe TopTenArr, this website, or our services are being used in connection with the sexual exploitation of a child, tell us.

We aim to review every child safety report within 24 hours of receipt. Reports of child safety concerns are prioritized above all other correspondence.

Do not send us the material itself. Forwarding or attaching CSAM is itself unlawful. Describe what you encountered instead.

Report it to the authorities as well

Because we do not host content, the authorities are usually better placed to act than we are. Please report directly to:

If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first. In the United States, that is 911.

6. What happens after a report

  1. We review it promptly, targeting 24 hours from receipt.
  2. We preserve the relevant records available to us — a narrow set: licence key records, feedback submissions, and server logs. We do not hold your library, your media, or your Plex contents.
  3. We terminate access where warranted, permanently revoking the associated licence key and blocking the instance from our central service.
  4. We report to NCMEC as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A and cooperate fully with law enforcement.
  5. We respond to the reporter where we have a way to reach them and where doing so would not compromise an investigation.

We may take these steps without prior notice to the reported party, and we will not restore access pending appeal where a child safety concern is credible.

7. Legal compliance

We comply with all applicable child protection laws, including 18 U.S.C. § 2258A (mandatory reporting of apparent child pornography to NCMEC), the PROTECT Act, and applicable state, national, and international child protection law in the jurisdictions where we operate. We cooperate fully with law enforcement and NCMEC, and we respond to valid legal process.

8. Designated point of contact

We maintain a designated point of contact for child safety matters, as required by the app store policies under which TopTenArr is distributed.
